The Prophesyings of a Modern Day Prophet
We have all heard of some sort of prophesy and a few of us may have heard of a couple of prophets/prophetess in our life time; but the question of the hour is "Are there modern-day prophets/prophetess' who prophesy today?" The answer is an unequivocal, yes, there are modern day prophets/prophetess', but a true one is very hard to find and validate. I know you're thinking, "it's not that hard just let them prophesy and see if it comes true." A lot of people believe that is the way to test a prophet/prophetess or a prophetic word and that is not actually correct. There have been many prophets listed in the Holy Bible who were given prophetic words (prophesyings)by God to give unto others, and the original prophesy was overriden or overturned (children of Israel, Hezekiah, the Ninevites by Jonah, & King Saul by Samuel to name a few). Were these true prophets? Of course, they were! Did God change His mind? (I am not a man that I should lie, neither the Son of Man that I should repent...) No, that's not right either. God extended His grace and mercy in matters of time and space never concerning the content of what He said. Time and space are natural man's concepts. These two concepts are only relevant to those who reside in the natural realm and are finite. God is infinite and is not refined to things like time, space, or any natural law. So, His grace and mercy may overextend time and space matters but never the conceptual understanding of His statements/judgements. He does not go back on His Word, ever! Even when it may seem to benefit those He loves. God speaks through the Bible in written form (logos) and in spoken form (rhema). Jesus made it possible for mankind to once again have a means to speak and enter a relationship with the Father. After, Jesus rose from the dead and entered heaven He left us with the third person of the Godhead - the Holy Spirit. It is our greatest gift. Once you invite these three into your life you have the ability to prophesy over your own life (including your family), and intercede into other's lives so that all may be saved and none lost. Yes, there are prophets used by God today who are called and chosen to prophesy unto the whole Body of Christ and even within today's society. He does not miss an opportunity to show who He is, someone, somewhere, and in some way will prophesy to this generation. But not only that, He blesses each one of His children with the ability to prophesy in some capacity. If you want to be saved, just call on the name of Jesus Christ, and ask Him to enter your life. Admit that you are a sinner, and you believe that He was sent by the Father to die on the cross for your sins. You believe that He rose from the dead and resides with the Father now. Ask Him to send the Holy Spirit to reside within you to lead and teach you what you need to know, which is more about your newfound life in Him. Thank Him for hearing you and interceding on your behalf, YOU ARE SAVED right now and forever. I will continue bringing you topics of interest from the Word of God. These will be questions that I believe really need to an honest and informative answer to for millions who just want to know.
